So it’s only 6 days until my holiday to Crete and I decided I’d brush up on some phrases (spelt phonetically)…
Yiasses – Hello/Goodbye (pl)
Yiassou – Hello/Goodbye (sglr)
Angleea – England (easy to remember!)
Me lass anglika – Do you speak english?
Den milao ellinika – I do not speak Greek
Neh – Yes (that will get confusing)
Ohee – No
Parakalo – Please
Efharisto – Thank you
Signomi – Exuse me
Poso kani – How much is that?
Ehete – Do you have..?
Pou ine – Where is…?
To logariasmo parakalo – The bill please
enna – 1
dheeo – 2
treea – 3
tesserah – 4
pendeh – 5
exi – 6
efta – 7
octo – 8
ennia – 9
dheka – 10
What could possibly go wrong eh?
